Charlie Laliberte
Charlie taught visual art for 40 years in a variety of settings: Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington,D.C., Elmhurst, Illinois and Istanbul, Turkey. In 2005, after retirement he went to Uganda with his daughter to see the sights: the landscape, the animals, the people. Eventually Charlie became aware of university students looking for financial help. But with the advice of a university professor, his wife and Charlie decided to try to help with secondary education, since they were familiar with this level of education. Now 15 years later they find themselves following the lives of a number of young adults in northern Uganda.
