Karian Markos

Karian Markos is an attorney specializing in Administrative and Non-profit law. She has been serving on the Children Up Board of Directors since 2015.

Karian graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2002 with a degree in Political Science and International Relations. She earned her J.D. from the Chicago-Kent School of Law in 2005. She also holds a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Karian has spent most of her legal career in government service; as an Assistant State’s Attorney for DuPage County and as Associate General Counsel for the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, Division of Financial Institutions.

She now donates the majority of her professional time to charitable organizations that work with children. She currently lives in Elmhurst, Illinois with her husband and three children.
