Jimmy Ronaldo at IIT
ChildrenUP met Jimmy as he finished primary school in 2010. He was an outstanding student in secondary school. He went on to study water and health sanitation at the Uganda Technical College in Lira. He graduated as the top student in his class.
A Trustee at the Illinois Institute of Technology familiar with ChildrenUP asked if we had a good math and science student. Jimmy Ronaldo immediately came to mind. The trustee obtained a university scholarship with assistance generous sponsors.
Jimmy left Uganda on August 13 and arrived in Chicago the following day. It was his first-time leaving Uganda and the first time in a plane. On August 23rd Jimmy was finally able to get access to his dorm room, books and cafeteria. He is on his way to receive a degree in civil engineering.
